Ed Aldrich

Ed's been around the game for a long time... after a 20 year gig in the US Navy, as an electronics technician and cryptographic whiz, he spent six years supporting the Trident submarine Command and Control systems in Newport, RI. This was followed by another six years at Fleet Financial Group, and another two years at Gtech Corporation, where Ed became their SMS 2.0 expert, deploying the very first production deployment of the SMS 2.0 product in New England (March '99). This was also the year Ed attended his first SMS Conference, and saw the early stages of this new community of fellow Admins. Next, it was on to the role of the "SMS King" and corporate Antivirus Administrator at CVS/pharmacy where he also designed, deployed and administered the Altiris and Symantec Antivirus client management systems' enterprise wide. Community involvement continued to grow with each passing year and what was now MMS, resulting in founding the regional community in the form of the New England Area SMS User Group (the largest and oldest known SMS specific User Group in the country). Microsoft Management Summit experience further saw Ed as a five time Presenter at the series (2002-2006). He is frequently seen around the country as a familiar face at community related events and industry conferences.

Since 2006, Ed has leveraged his extensive Configuration Manager expertise while employed for the past nine years as a Solutions Engineer with 1E, Inc, a Microsoft Gold Partner (infrastructure). Ed is currently in the role of Technical Enablement Lead at 1E, responsible for training new employees on the Configuration Manager product, and how the 1E tools further enhance that integration into a world class enterprise management solution.
